Infinis
Infinis was named one of the ‘Best Green Companies in 2010’ by the Sunday Times.
In addition to Infinis’ obvious green credentials – it was named one of the ‘Best Green Companies in 2008’ by the Sunday Times - the firm has instituted a comprehensive approach to CSR, and publishes an Annual Review.
Additionally, the Infinis “Charity Challenge” was launched at the start of 2008 in order to strengthen Infinis’ relationships with its local communities and allow Infinis to donate money to charities and good causes nominated by employees. An additional donation to the fund is made for each health, safety or environmental near-miss that is reported. This has helped tackle under reporting of near-misses, which (in common with most businesses) has historically been a challenge for Infinis. A recent example of charitable work that the Challenge funded is the Gainsborough Furniture and Resource Centre which recycles unwanted furniture to families in need.
Infinis employees have also been heavily involved in donating their personal time and energies to many good causes, with activities ranging from sponsored cycle rides and running events to coaching youth football and bowling teams.
During 2008 Infinis also invested in an initiative with local schools in Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire to raise awareness of climate change and energy saving. As part of this, Infinis has donated electricity “smart-meters” to 24 schools for use in lessons.
