Bloomfield
The Bloomfield Learning Centre is a charity that offers diagnostic assessment and tuition for children of between six and sixteen years of age who have specific learning difficulties/ dyslexia. The Centre operates with the Department of Child Psychology within Guy’s Hospital, London.
St Christopher's Hospice
As the first hospice of the modern movement, St Christopher’s has been caring for people in the final stage of their life since 1967. The catchment area now comprises of five London Boroughs and the hospice cares for around 2,000 people a year and around 500 at home on any day.
Affectionately known as the ‘Mecca of Palliative Care’, St Christopher’s has inspired innovation in 110 countries and continues to provide world leading training via courses and clinical placements to 4,000 health professionals annually, many from overseas.
Create
Create is a unique charity that uses the creative arts to help transform the lives of some of the UK's most disadvantaged and vulnerable people. Using leading professional artists, Create develops and delivers an extensive, UK-wide programme of education & community activities across all artforms.
The Unicorn Theatre
The Unicorn Theatre is one of the leading producers of professional theatre for children in Britain. Founded in 1947, its mission is to create amazing shows for children which are fun, challenging and exciting – shows which rise to the challenge of a child’s imagination.
The Prince’s Trust
The Prince’s Trust is a UK charity that helps young people overcome barriers and get their lives working. Through practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance, it helps 14-30 year olds realise their potential and transform their lives.
Age Concern
Age Concern is dedicated to the promotion of the well-being of all older people and to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. They support all people over 50 in the UK, ensuring that they get the most from life as well as providing essential services such as day care and information.
NSPCC
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) was founded in 1884. The aim of the charity is to protect children from cruelty, support vulnerable families, campaign for changes to the law and raise awareness about abuse.
The NSPCC has 177 community-based projects and run the Child Protection Helpline and ChildLine in the UK and the Channel Islands. It also works to achieve cultural, social and political change; influencing legislation, policy, practice, public attitudes and behaviours and delivering services for the benefit of young people.
Changing Faces
Changing Faces is a national charity based in the UK that supports and represents people who have disfigurements of the face or body from any cause.
Changing Faces is a Catalyst for Change, enabling people who have disfigurements to develop high self-esteem and self-confidence, have access to the very best health and social services and enjoy equal rights and opportunities throughout their lives.
The Climate Project
The Climate Project is a movement to educate and challenge citizens, and governments into action against the growing crisis of global warming. As a non-profit group, they work to bring education, community information, research and citizen action programs to communities across the country. Their first initiative, sponsored by Participant Productions, is the training of 1,000 lecturers who will present the information delivered in An Inconvenient Truth to audiences across America.
